Lucy Meza, candidata a la gubernatura de Morelos por la coalición Dignidad y Seguridad por Morelos, Vamos Todos, señaló directamente al ex gobernador Cuauhtémoc Blanco, a Adán Augusto López y al candidato de Morena a la alcaldía de Cuautla, Rodrigo Arredondo, como responsables del asesinato de Ricardo Arizmendi, candidato suplente a la presidencia municipal de Cuautla; afirmó que estos actores políticos están detrás de la violencia que busca desestabilizar el proceso electoral en Morelos.
En una conferencia de prensa, Meza expresó su consternación por el asesinato de Arizmendi, ocurrido el pasado martes en su negocio. La abanderada aliancista subrayó que este crimen forma parte de una estrategia de intimidación orquestada desde las altas esferas del poder para sembrar miedo entre los votantes. «Este acto violento es un intento deliberado de manipular el proceso democrático en Morelos,» declaró Meza.
Acompañada por Jesús Corona Damián, candidato a la presidencia municipal de Cuautla, y representantes de los partidos PAN, PRI, PRD y RSP, Meza Guzmáninformó que durante el ataque también resultó herida una empleada de Arizmendi, quien falleció posteriormente en el hospital. La candidata expresó sus condolencias a las familias de las víctimas y destacó que Arizmendi era un empresario respetado y comprometido con su comunidad.
Al responsabilizar a Morena de fomentar un clima de violencia e incertidumbre en Morelos la senadora con licencia ahondó: «Estos líderes han creado un ambiente de miedo para intentar frenar el cambio político en la entidad,» y exigió una investigación exhaustiva del asesinato y que se haga justicia para Ricardo Arizmendi.
Asimismo, Meza solicitó garantías de seguridad para asegurar que las elecciones del próximo domingo 2 de junio se desarrollen en un entorno seguro y pacífico. «Es imperativo que se tomen medidas inmediatas para proteger el proceso electoral y garantizar que los ciudadanos puedan ejercer su derecho al voto sin temor,» añadió.
Finalmente, Meza hizo un llamado a los ciudadanos de Morelos a no dejarse intimidar por la violencia y a participar activamente en las elecciones. «Es crucial que los morelenses acudan a las urnas y demuestren que no se dejarán amedrentar. El cambio que Morelos necesita está en nuestras manos,» concluyó.
